sometimes the issue is in plain sight. and we’re so accustomed to being right, that we can’t see when we’re in the wrong. when we’ve wronged others. wronged ourselves.
i think social media is a useful tool. i don’t think it should be your entire existence. this is a simulated reality that a fictionalized version of yourself exists in.
this is make-believe, this is play pretend. this is us developing technological skills, artistic skills, self-perception & global socio-emotional awareness skills. an accessible, equal opportunity, bibliographic electronic tool.
tonight, i’m sending white lights of protection to the community. because a suicide is a special sort of loss. it’s the type of loss that draws your kids in the house for an early night in. the kind of loss that makes your mom and dad miss you suddenly. the kind of loss that makes me wonder when our global masochism will finally be enough.

be kind to those around you, not because of a tragedy. but because it’s the right thing to do. and your instinctual internal sense of justice says it so.
little love,
i’m sorry this earth experience was less than ideal. i wish you the best in the place where all things meet. we did not deserve you.
sincerely,
an open letter,
from a concerned citizen,
in a state of grief.
